The 2027 GMC Acadia is a three-row sport utility vehicle sold in four trims, starting at $43,900 for the Elevation, the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) at launch. For families here in Central Indiana shopping for a third row, start with what doesn't change: the 328-horsepower turbo, the towing rating and the cargo space behind every row are the same on all four trims. What changes is the choice of front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD), the suspension, the ground clearance, the equipment and the number of seats, seven or eight.

The Four 2027 Acadia Trims

Each 2027 Acadia trim suits a different buyer, from the people-carrying Elevation to the full-leather Denali Ultimate.

Elevation

The 2027 Acadia Elevation is the entry trim, and it can carry the most passengers of any Acadia. It comes with 18-inch Grazen Metallic painted aluminum wheels, heated front seats and an 8-way power driver's seat with power lumbar. Its seats come in After Dark or Gideon Gray cloth, or in available CoreTec seating material.

Two Elevation options change its look and its seating.

AT4

The 2027 Acadia AT4 is the off-road trim, and it uses GMC's Active Torque Control AWD system. It gets an off-road tuned suspension, a lifted ride height and 18-inch dark machined aluminum wheels with all-terrain tires as standard. On the outside, the AT4 has its own Night Rider chrome accents, gloss-black roof rails, red recovery hooks and steel skid plates. Inside, the AT4-exclusive Forest Storm interior with Mahogany Accents has the AT4 logo stitched into the front head restraints.

Denali

The 2027 Acadia Denali brings leather-appointed seats to the first and second rows. Its front seats are heated and ventilated, the second-row seats fold with one touch and the third row folds under power. It rides on 20-inch machined aluminum wheels in a Pearl Nickel finish and carries its own Denali grille and badging with Galvano Silver accents. Rainsense front wipers are standard, and a performance-tuned suspension is available.

Denali Ultimate

The 2027 Acadia Denali Ultimate is the top trim, finished in Woodland Mahogany full leather. Its front seats are heated, ventilated and massaging, and the second-row seats are full leather too. The cabin trim is Paldao wood with topographical map etching. Standard equipment includes a panoramic sunroof, a performance-tuned suspension and 22-inch machined aluminum wheels in an After Midnight Metallic finish. Outside, the Denali Ultimate has a Vader Chrome grille and GMC emblems.

Which Trim Should You Choose?

Choosing a 2027 Acadia trim comes down to how many people you carry, whether you'll drive off pavement and how much comfort you want.

Start with the Elevation if you need room for the most people or want the lowest starting price. If your plans include driving off pavement, the AT4 is the trim built for it, since it comes only with AWD and has all-terrain tires and a raised ride height as standard. The Denali is the step to take for leather, ventilated seats up front and a power-folding third row without paying for the top trim. For Woodland Mahogany full leather, massaging front seats and a standard performance-tuned suspension, the Denali Ultimate is the one to pick.

If your trailer weighs more than the Acadia's towing rating, the Acadia isn't the right fit. Look elsewhere too if you need eight seats along with leather or the AT4's off-road hardware, since eight-passenger seating comes only on the Elevation.

Engine, Drive Modes and Fuel Economy

The 2027 Acadia uses the same engine and transmission on every trim, so an Elevation makes the same power as a Denali Ultimate. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) fuel economy, in miles per gallon (mpg), changes with the drivetrain rather than the trim.

FWD or AWD for Central Indiana Roads

Central Indiana winters lean toward ice, freezing rain, slush and freeze-thaw cycles more than deep snow. Remote Start is standard on every trim, so on an icy morning you can start your Acadia with the key fob before you head out.

Anderson sits in Madison County, where about two-thirds of residents who commute out of the county head southwest on Interstate 69 (I-69). On a highway-heavy commute like that, the FWD Acadia's higher EPA highway rating is the trade-off to weigh against AWD. Every trim except the AT4 offers that choice, and the AT4 is AWD only.

How Much the 2027 Acadia Can Tow

Every 2027 Acadia trim is rated to tow up to 5,000 pounds with the Trailering Package, so towing isn't a reason to pay for a higher trim. That rating is a maximum meant for comparison. The weight of passengers, cargo, options and accessories can reduce how much you can tow. In practice, a full third row and a loaded cargo area leave less of that rating for the trailer. When you hitch up, select Tow/Haul in the Traction Select System.

Technology and Standard Safety

Every 2027 Acadia trim has a 15-inch diagonal Premium GMC Infotainment touchscreen with Google built-in and Google Gemini, plus an 11-inch diagonal Driver Information Center. Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto are supported, though Android Auto needs a compatible phone running Android 11.0 or newer to connect wirelessly. The AutoSense Power Liftgate is standard on all four trims.

A configurable 8-inch diagonal Head-Up Display and wireless charging for one compatible mobile device are standard on the Denali and the Denali Ultimate, and the Head-Up Display is available on the AT4. Super Cruise is standard on the Denali Ultimate with a three-year OnStar One plan, and it's available on the Elevation and AT4. It requires an active Super Cruise plan or trial.

The 2027 Acadia keeps the 2026 model's engine and output, 8-speed automatic, EPA ratings, towing rating, cargo space and ground clearance. For 2027, the Denali Ultimate adds Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist and Driver Attention Assist. Both Denali trims now come with 10 camera views, where the 2026 Acadia came with 9.
